You've reached the website of Simon Tickner. I'm not here right now, so please leave a message after the biography.

I am an interaction designer with 18 years experience in mobile, desktop, web & interactive tv. I'm currently a Google Staffer, working out of London as part of the Android user experience design team.

Since joining Android, I'm very proud to have been a part of Android 4.0 Ice Cream SandwichAndroid 4.1 Jelly Bean & Android 4.4 Kit Kat designing for the platform, the phone app and voice typing on devices like the Galaxy Nexus, the Nexus 4, the Nexus 5 and the Nexus 7. I'm particularly giddy about seeing my work on the voice input capabilities of Google Now featuring heavily in the Google I/O 2012 keynote.

Prior to this I led the interaction design team at Skype and subsequently the consumer experience design team, looking after Skype on Windows and Mac, mobile and web.

In another life I also led the interaction design team at the BBC's Future Media & Technology division and was central to the design of iPlayer 1.0.

I live (and love) by the seaside in Whitstable, with Annie, my wife, and my two children, Mercy & Isaac.
